THE SOLUTION
We were given the architectural plans of the old car park that was to be transformed into the new drop off and pick up area. We then came up with the design concepts that met the initial vision, complemented the surrounding old stone building facades and met the local streetlighting specification. All lighting design was carried out by Marwood and included comprehensive product proposals from the ground up.
The following product solutions were selected;
Solar powered belisha beacon crossing units- off grid assets reducing the overal energy impact of the scheme
Ornate Columns with heritage embellishments and LED lanterns in keeping with the surrounding built environment, coupled with marine specification finish- to withstand the coastal environment
Easy install ground sockets- Allowed for the civils element of the scheme to progress with or without the lighting columns as the columns can be installed any time after the ground sockets are installed. This also gives consideration to future maintenance costs should any columns be damaged and need replacing by making removal and installation much faster than traditional ground installations without the need for excavation and reinstatement.
One of the driving factors in selecting Marwood as a partner was our ability to give guidance on relevant lighting standards, comprehensively select products to meet design requirements but also ensure all components fit and work together ensuring there were no onsite installation issues and installation could be carried out seamlessly
